my introduction to the pastels was in 1991 when i bought the "thru your heart" cd single/ep. the best thing on it sounded unlike any of the other songs on the cd. anyway, i sold it but taped this song "my heart's my badge" on cassette. i later found out it was a version of hawkwind's "brainstorm" (i'd never heard hawkwind before)!! i swear to god last year i found the single again, bought it and raced home to find out "my heart's my badge" was not the same song i had heard. this has always freaked me out. pastels doing "brainstorm"?? am i insane?
