Both are no longer with us.

Baxter Wingnut, Friday, 5 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

...which is a shame in the latter case, but certainly not in the former.

MarkH, Friday, 5 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Um, that lefty extremists make better pop music that righty extremists?

Though that rule is subject to the Rage Against the Machine exception.

Tadeusz Suchodolski, Friday, 5 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Er, one of those was an artist who was one of the few to express rage at an incredible injustice of a country that ideally wants to rid itself of those that are not members of a particular socio-ethnic group even if they have been living there for hundreds of years, the other is a group (from what I seem to recall) that wants to rid their country (THEIR country) of all those that are not members of a particular socio-ethnic group.

where's the comparison?

frankly, i find it disgusting that muslimgauze could even be uttered in the same breath as that bunch of disgusting nazi fucks.

Both worthless bands that tended to sell albums mainly because their audience like their ideology first and their music second?

Siegbran Hetteson, Sunday, 7 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

To be fair, Siegbran, I was always entranced by Muslimgauze's music first and foremost and still am. Certainly it's a daunting discography to work through -- to put it mildly -- but while obviously his particular ideology is downright inescapable, I wouldn't give a care if he hadn't recorded such amazing, entrancing efforts as Zul'm and Drugsherpa.

Both have flooded their micromarkets with release after release of unlistenable shit; Muslimgauze at least changes the song titles from one record to another (the titles being the best thing about them actually...Vote Hezbollah!), but on the other hand at least I've heard a good Skrewdriver album.
