Best New/Recent Release That I Bought Today?

I haven't bought this many new releases on a single day in fuck knows how long. I haven't heard any of these yet, except the first half of the Raveonettes album, which I listened to on the way home, and it is excellent (though less blissfully noisy than their last one). If any of the other five albums are better, well... here's your chance to set me straight. Any strong opinions out there?

But please, J0rdan. Continue.

lorax body spray (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 01:51 (sixteen years ago)

all of those are still not as bad as you starting a poll centered around yourself

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 01:51 (sixteen years ago)

what do you need reinforcement to make sure you bought the right things?

let's poll "which jpg of a chick eating a hot dog would heave ho jerk off to first"

lorax body spray (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 01:55 (sixteen years ago)

You guys are welcome to discuss the albums. That was my intent. I don't need justification for my tastes, I already shelled out $70 something for the albums and I'm looking forward to each. I was just wondering who else was digging which of these and why.

But of course, it's always more fun to flame. It wouldn't be ILX without it!

a. mr que makes awesome polls

b. i have basically no problem with logical polls that are united by something like the same artist or producer or label etc etc etc - what i do find intensely annoying is when people poll albums such as "what is the best album as ranked by this completely random site that no one on this message board except for 4 people care about" and "what albums that i bought today are the best"

lorax body spray (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 02:08 (sixteen years ago)

Most polls on ILX are pointless, really. I think the key effect of a "successful" poll is to generate discussion. Which, clearly, I have -- just not the type I intended.
