So whose idea was it to let a little girl remake Britney Spears' "Toxic" music video?

This has been getting pulled from youtube all day, but here's the latest rehost. All I've been able to dig up is that this girl won some sort of contest, and her prize was the promise that she'd star in a remake of her favorite video, which was "Toxic."

Uncomfortable as this is it doesn't bother me as much as my daughter being into "If You Seek Amy". Pre-pubescent kids have been grooving on heavily sexualised pop songs for a long time.

The fact that kids know of these things and would do them if they could is nothing, but who's the director that made her lick her hand and straddle little boys? What were the thoughts of the crew?

I don't think kids of a certain age "know" what the songs/videos are about, tho. They just like pop music and pop stars and it's fun to play dress-up. No doubt that video is all kinds of fucked but I haven't seen any context or anything to suggest that this is anything but a girl wanting to imitate an unwittingly inappropriate video and some grown-ups misguidedly letting her do it.

that's a very nice thought i guess, but not really even close to true

I didn't articulate myself well there, I meant "know" in the sense they know of dirty pop songs and the salacious dances, but probably not their full implications or meaning.

The grown-ups are obviously the people wearing the black hats in this case.

That's pretty fucked up.

Aside from the obvious WTF about the content of this, this looks like a really professional remake job. Is it by the same people who did the original video? Cos it looks like they did alot more than simple green screening.

I'm not sure, the new info in the vid says

This is a remake of Britney Spears sexy video Toxic, but the catch is it stars nine year old Ada Azucena Diaz. But who is Ada and why would her parents allow her to be involved in such a video? Turns out shes a dancer on a local kids show in Trujillo, Peru called Mundo Magico. Based on all the Spanish-language press weve seen about the video, no one in Peru has any problem with this. Check this news story from Lima show Magaly Te Ve, (they call her Ada Azucena Gonzales, but all other reports say shes Diaz.), that refers to Adas performance as sexy, glamorous and spectacular, with the host, Magaly, adding that she wishes she could be a part of Mundo Magico. Who doesnt wish they had a young, hot, nine year-old body again, Magaly? (that's sarcasm, btw).

Check out more info and news video about why this remake was made, at the following links:

I think kids know, we were making sex jokes at like 10 at my school. I was kinda surprised/shocked a girl I knew made a cum joke ("sex party! Everyone's cumming" etc)

this is fucked up but i dunno, I'm not really as offended by this as I should be I guess. I do think the adults shouldn't have allowed her to do this or at least, shouldn't have allowed such a literal remake. otherwise, the girl seems like she's having fun - pre-pubescent girls have been imitating their favourite popstars and their over-sexualized dance moves since the beginning of time. Not sure if people would object so forcefully if the video she chose had been say, "Baby One More Time" or "Sometimes".

I think BOMT has been done loads of times already.

Wasn't there a big outcry when another little girl made a dance routine to "Superfreak" Rick James?

No. There wasn't.
