i'm looking for tunes that are based primarily around string loops for a nice mix cd. genre is not important, but i'm most interested in tunes that are built around and stick pretty close to one main string loop repeating over and over.

a couple of examples to get you all started:

buck65 "bachelor of science" mum and dad "castle heights" (i think that's what it's called) cinematic orchestra "all that you give" (though this one strays from the sample a bit too much for my taste).

yeah yeah, this is quality gear. keep them coming. bonus points for anybody who comes up with tracks that have more of a "string loop sampled off a dusty old lp" feel. check the mum and dad track or the buck65 track for what i mean.

the "classic tales" album by the runaways uk is almost 75% composed of hip-hop using strings. such an underrated album.

can't get much more sublime than Chef Raekwon's 'North Star [Jewels]' on 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...'

I think this fulfils your requirement for the melding of irreducible distance (dusty old lps) and crack-high immediacy (candy-fix-short-attention-span) in their spatio-temporal collapse.

'millenium' by robbie williams. I think this is a top single, and goes well after 'bittersweet symphony' as it's a kind of mainstream pop ironic response to it.
