This Is My Religion by Gene Farris was on the cdr Andy K sent me, and i think it is ace. its kind of like robert armani and rotary connection, like those 2 should have always been hanging out.

have you heard this track? what do you reckon? what is the rest of farris's stuff like

the album of the same title is excellent but he is strangly unloved in house circles. the other albums i have by him are just as good if a little generic.

My mates got quite a few of his 12"s. Can't remember the name of any of them but they're all pretty good. All filtered house/techno type stuff but not in a style of anyone else I can think of really.

His dj sets rock it, deep dark headf_cking edgy house, and funky as hell too occasionally. And this is my religion is like that too.

I like some of his music, but the "Booked" mix CD is a definite dud.

Ha! Searched for the GF track on a whim. Anyway:

Not Rotary Connection but produced by the husband of RC's Minnie Riperton (Richard Rudolph) shortly after her passing. Sampled bit at 2:26.

Minnie was one of Teena's heroes, obviously.
