what i do at least is queue up a shitload of albums that i've always wanted to hear but never have, or check out my boomkat and other music newsletters and look for what sounds interesting (or if i hear about something that sounds good on ilx) and put that in the queue as well. that's not really a specific recommendation but it works out well for me.

I have 25 free "Web Songs" I can select from Lala in the next few days. I don't really get the attraction to "Web Songs" as opposed to downloading (I'll grant you, it is much cheaper). If I like a song/album that much, I'd want to download it. If I'm lukewarm about a song/album, I don't want it "reserved" so I can listen to it anytime. And these days, if you're unsure about a song/album, almost anything can be legally sampled, between MySpace, YouTube, blogs and so forth.

Does anyone use Lala's Web Song feature frequently? If so, what do you see as the benefits?

I only use the free web songs for making work mixes. It's kind of pointless really. Love the site, though. I've listened to a lot more new music since I discovered it.

I hate that I can't save an album I want for future downloading (like the Saved-For-Later lists on eMusic). All I see is the ability to save individual songs, which doesn't serve the same function.

Is there any way you can scrobble your lala stuff on last.fm?
