Track id help - sounds like Where the Wild Things Are OST track "Hideaway"

My wife and I saw the movie last night and the track "Hideaway" sounded so familiar. After an hour of searching and head scratching, I hit upon "May this be love" by Jimi Hendrix. My wife is not convinced and thinks there is another song that more closely matches "Hideaway" (esp. vocal melody in chorus)

Bump, because this is bugging me too now.

Closest I can think of so far is "Moving" by Supergrass, but I don't think that's what's nagging at the back of my mind.

Okay, holy shit. This was bothering me for a week since you posted this as well. It came to me today. I don't know if this is what you were thinking of, but it's scratched my itch: "Little Trouble Girl" by Sonic Youth.

Thanks for the suggestions but my wife says that's not it. I think we both may be thinking of an older song (Fifties?) and specifically matching the vocal melody on the word "hideaway" and following lines.

Beginning melody sounds a little like Southern Nights, especially Allen Toussaint's version rather than Glen Campbell's.

The Allen Toussaint Southern Nights does sound a lot like it but neither of us here are familiar with it. My wife is even insisting that the words come from somewhere else - we actually thought it was a cover at first. I have a feeling that someone who actually understands music composition might give me some insight but until then I'm left scratching my head - although I can convince myself that my Jimi pick is right until I compare them side to side.

"Rumpus" sounds like "Where Is My Mind?" covered by Liars.
