I quite like Christina Milian's bid to become a member of the White Stripes.

Guns'N'Roses - November Rain. Obviously.

I don't have favourites. Because 1 I am not particularly interested in clips (which doesn't mean I think video clips aren't/can't be art) and 2 uh well I don't like to watch MTV (or any other music channel) because it makes it difficult for me to interpret it (in the obv WRONG/personal way).

But I quite like some of Bjork's videoclips even though I am not a fan of her (music). Madonna's clips are also interesting. Especially Frozen which was inspired by Merce Cunningham if I remember correctly. Oh and Prince's Sign of the Times.

baby got back - it's his intensity; he DEMANDS that you understand his point of view. and the fruit is funny.

Just (Do It To Yourself)

Chris Sallis, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ANYTHING directed by Michel Gondry with perhaps Massive Attacks 'Protection' my favourite

from my youth - MARRS 'Pump Up The Volume'

Others would be obvious faves such as 'Weapon Of Choice', 'Sabotage' and Madonna's 'Bedtime Story'

Cibo Matto - Sugar Water
Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People
Ken Ishii - Extra
Squarepusher - Come on my selector

Bjork's videos in general are nice. I also liked the videos for Wu's "Triumph" and Sway & Tech's "The Anthem" because they took such a comic book approach to rappers.

Aphex Twin ones by Chris Cunningham: Come to Daddy & Windowlicker

Andrew, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

have you seen Cunningham's clip for Portishead's 'Only You'? Cunningham has declared this his own personal favourite promo out of all the ones he's done. its far more subtle than the aphex ones of course but its just as breathlessly stylish and well executed as 'All is full of love' and the aphex clips. superb.

Michael Jackson - 'Smooth Criminal', 'Stranger in Moscow'. Oh, and 'Scream'.

And Eminem's 'Without Me' is endlessly amusing.

the francis bacon-esque clip that shudder to think did. with the sailors and tugboat and implication-of-sodomy-below-decks.
