TS: 'Heartbeat City' vs. 'Door to Door'

Actually I hate both. 'HC' is unnecessary while there are still Def Leppard records about. But 'D2D' - why hasn't this accrued a cult of ghastly fascination like 'Love Beach' or 'Having Fun With Elvis on Stage' or 'Satanic Majesties'? The decline of a great band into rudderless flailing is always analysis worthy and this band were one of the greatest!

Never actually got my ears `round DOOR TO DOOR, but I'm guessing it's dreadful. HEARTBEAT CITY being their COMBAT ROCK, I can only assume DOOR TO DOOR is their :::::shudder::::: CUT THE CRAP.

As much of a Cars fan as I was, I never got the album either. What was the single off it?

"Tonight She Comes," I think...or was that from the greatest hits collection?

The single from Door to Door was "You Are the Girl." A good a single as any of theirs from the 80's, but the rest of the album was garbage.

great analogy using the Clash reference and oh so true. a lowly pion such as myself commends you highly for that.

and it's Ben Orr, not Bobby (same neighborhood yet a legendary hockey player) I hope Ben lived a fantastic life cuz the poor guy suffered a long and painful death. rest easy, dude.

Oh come on, Heartbeat City had some good, although commerical, stuff on it. How could you deny it like this?!

So am I the only one that thinks that _Panorama_ is their best album? Never really cared for the pop ones.

five years pass...

The single from Door to Door was "You Are the Girl." A good a single as any of theirs from the 80's, but the rest of the album was garbage.

i thought that the single was "strap me in"? ah well, that shows how much attention i paid to door to door back in the day.
