He is a folk singer with 60's albums on Vanguard & Verve Forecast; he is credited with having discovered Mississippi John Hurt (he also produced Hurt, for Vanguard). I once heard him actually described as "an acoustic guitar with a bad attitude" - he made a very snotty and funny album for Adelphi called "Songs That Made America Great". He retired from music, and apparently, whenever asked about having his work re-issued, he says something like "Burn the tapes, I don't want that shit out there anymore". A neat guy, very funny...for fans of another wonderful (lost) Vanguard artist: Richard and Mimi Farina.
