top 5:
Slow Jamz
Blame It
Unpredictable
Just Like Me
Live In The Sky

some dude, Wednesday, 4 November 2009 15:24 (fifteen years ago)

whats the one that is basically the plot of that movie The Hangover? "Extravaganza" right? Yeah, that.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 4 November 2009 15:28 (fifteen years ago)

What could it be apart from Slow Jamz?

OK Abacus (chap), Wednesday, 4 November 2009 15:35 (fifteen years ago)

really? i know it's apparently one of his only songs that even charted in the UK, but it's just horrible, dog.

xpost - i'm rooting for "Slow Jamz" but "Blame It" is pretty high up there for me too, and a lot of people love "Gold Digger"

r|t|c, Wednesday, 4 November 2009 16:05 (fifteen years ago)

can i just rep 4 this again?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weANgp3ZMTM

dunno how to approach this poll, the answer is 'slow jamz' but it feels like a bit like cheating.

r|t|c, Wednesday, 4 November 2009 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

(especially so if i were to be irrelevant and bring the collipark mix into proceedings, ooh lord)

r|t|c, Wednesday, 4 November 2009 16:15 (fifteen years ago)

"blame it" has been my top song of 09 since the minute i heard it and i think it's an utter classic in the 2000s pop canon

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:14 (fifteen years ago)

"slow jamz" is of course an unimpeachable classic, "just like me" & "unpredictable" are really good too

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:15 (fifteen years ago)

another shondrae beat

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:17 (fifteen years ago)

"Gold Digger" is my favorite song here but Jamie is barely on it so I voted for "Slow Jamz" instead

swagless price (The Reverend), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:44 (fifteen years ago)

<3 "Unpredictable" but more for Luda and the production (esp the chirpy "I like that!") than for Jamie

swagless price (The Reverend), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:45 (fifteen years ago)

oh damn forgot about "I know you're used to dinner and a movie/ Why not be my dinner while makin' a movie" yeah Jamie is great on this too, should have voted for it

swagless price (The Reverend), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:48 (fifteen years ago)

alright i'm getting really tired of bangladesh

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 5 November 2009 04:55 (fifteen years ago)

ok so after the 7th time of hearing this 'speak french' thing i feel no closer to knowing it than when i did the first. it is impressively engrossing in a grisly sort of way though.....? on the other hand str8-up tell me it's bullshit and i'd probly be like "duh oh yeah so it is" tbh.

r|t|c, Thursday, 5 November 2009 14:25 (fifteen years ago)

i don't quite get the "yawn bangladesh again" reaction though, me even getting to the end of one of his songs this year let alone replaying it must constitute some sort of improvement

r|t|c, Thursday, 5 November 2009 14:30 (fifteen years ago)

gah, I keep reading this as John Foxx and wondering whether to go for "Underpass" or "No-One Driving".

speak french is ... weird

heart goin ham (deej), Saturday, 7 November 2009 00:16 (fifteen years ago)

maybe one of those songs that will hammer thru repition? into something ...

heart goin ham (deej), Saturday, 7 November 2009 00:16 (fifteen years ago)

lip service, room service, i walk in the club, husbands get nervous

lol

heart goin ham (deej), Saturday, 7 November 2009 00:17 (fifteen years ago)

tbh i really love the textures going on in this beat, its just hard to get your head around the song

heart goin ham (deej), Saturday, 7 November 2009 00:18 (fifteen years ago)

this is at least not as bad-awkward as "break up" but it's still pretty awkward

lindsay goham (some dude), Saturday, 7 November 2009 01:47 (fifteen years ago)

"blame it" <3ers... how are you not sick of this song?

♪♫(●̲̲̅̅̅̅=̲̲̅̅̅̅●̲̅̅)♪♫ (Steve Shasta), Saturday, 7 November 2009 03:15 (fifteen years ago)

there's like 1 or 2 hits every year that i never get sick of no matter how overplayed it gets, that's just that song for me in '09

lindsay goham (some dude), Saturday, 7 November 2009 08:19 (fifteen years ago)

still don't really know what 'speak french' is supposed to be, like i find myself deciding to put it on a fair bit but not so much as music as more a vaguely elliptical lynch-damaged student short film. okay wow yeah i must really hate it.

r|t|c, Monday, 9 November 2009 19:09 (fifteen years ago)

"that's when the violin plaaaaay- *!!!DUN DUN DUN DOOM SYNTH STABS!!!*" wait what oh no it is happening again

all dogs: go to heaven (m bison), Saturday, 22 January 2011 21:04 (fourteen years ago)

i love the ... spareness of these drake/40 type songs

pearsonic, Saturday, 22 January 2011 23:19 (fourteen years ago)

i fuck with "Successful" but these similar Drake/40 songs are ehhhh to me. also "Living Better Now" > "Fall For Your Type" as far as singles off this album.

two weeks pass...

let us celebrate the Hollywood douchebag who was in the right place at the right time to be part of some of the best singles of the decade

feel kind of like i inadvertently anticipated "Runaway" with the OP in this thread

some dude, Wednesday, 9 February 2011 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

actually now that i think of it if Kanye had Foxx sing the hook on "Runaway" the song probably would've worked for me 100x more.

some dude, Wednesday, 9 February 2011 18:26 (fourteen years ago)

yessssss

i fuck w/ "fall for your type" tho it's no "un-thinkable"

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 February 2011 18:41 (fourteen years ago)

i think i'm gonna upload a version of the alicia song to youtube called "unthinkable (no hypen refix)" and see how long it takes ppl to realize it's the same song

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 February 2011 18:42 (fourteen years ago)

one month passes...

how the fuck did they put out two singles after "blame it" and neither was "number one"

J0rdan S., Saturday, 2 April 2011 19:21 (fourteen years ago)

because "Number One" was actually the single they were pushing right before "Blame It" blew up instead -- it'd be great if they went back and tried to promote "Number One" again after "Blame It" ran its course but i guess they wanted to focus on something 'new' like that shitty "Digital Girl" remix

bernard so icey (some dude), Saturday, 2 April 2011 19:39 (fourteen years ago)

smh

J0rdan S., Saturday, 2 April 2011 19:44 (fourteen years ago)

they should've put "number one" back on this most recent album and made it a single

J0rdan S., Saturday, 2 April 2011 19:44 (fourteen years ago)

twelve years pass...

so yesterday, articles flying all over the place saying Foxx was still in the hospital and the family is 'preparing for the worst" (i.e., death), today meanwhile his daughter said he's been out of the hospital for weeks and is doing fine.

really reminiscent of the "Lil Wayne has been given last rites, it's only a matter of time" to him being released and just fine the next day, although in these situations you never know what really happened and frankly it isn't our business.

happy to hear he seems to be doing alright.
