I've been listening to a lot of daytime Radio 1 recently, and i gotta say there's a few jams out right now. So pick your favourite.

I'm hoping it's not a Dizzee whitewash

of the ones i've heard, bad romance

tbh that song does nothing for me. Gaga in general does very little for me. Pounding eurotrash is good, but Gaga seems to have extracted all the fun and replaced it with plodding, needy sexiness

yeah i could see that, i think it has a pretty massive chorus tho

"russian roulette" easy

"dirtee cash", "bad romance" and "everybody in love" are also very good. "meet me halfway" has a great chorus attached to v dull verses. haven't figured out what i think about paramore, gave their album a listen but can't really remember any of it...needs more chances though. the xx remix of the florence single is great but the original is a travesty. everything else sucks to varying degrees.

the worst is surely "tik tok"

lex pretend, Thursday, 12 November 2009 00:07 (sixteen years ago)

on some level i do quite like tik tok. I could imagine myself dancing to it with my shirt off

On the other hand, i'm not sure what to think about Russian Roulette.. it's still not doing very much for me. All the right ingredients are there, but nothing has stuck yet

Everybody in Love is definitely a jam. That Jason Derulo song is a bit of a jam (if you live with the chorus). And the Leona Lewis song is actually great as well

the N-Dubz one about looking on facebook is quite possibly the worst, just for that refrain

the facebook line is great! I doubt they'll ever top "I Swear" but N-Dubz can always be relied on to bring the guffaws.

to be honest this is a pretty dire list when I don't feel strongly about any of the songs and Cheryl Cole has earwormed her way to the top of a dull bunch. The kids keep singing it.

and how sad is it that Estelle can only get success on the back of hacks?

It's a poor, unremitting list.

I nearly typed poop there, but.

today, "Tik Tok". I only heard it for the first time last night, and am sort of obsessed with it at the mo.

Otherwise, Rihanna or N-Dubz.
