Since Faces > Stones, voted Wood.

How anyone can vote for anyone who wasn't Brian Jones is beyond me.

In Praise Of... Mick Taylor

I like Brian Jones but they made their best albums without him and he never wrote a song. Cool multi-instrumentalist, added some great hooks, and a cool-looking dude for sure but not the best Stone. Best Western populizer of Joujouka maybe.

Charlie! I know Keith is the correct answer, but CW is their secret weapon--he almost makes Some Girls bearable!

I don't know if I would like the stones nearly as much as I do if it weren't for some of the things Mick does vocally. Mick really pulls off that campy swagger in the vocals that elevates them from great bluesy rock into something really special. At least for me. I don't know. A lot of my favorite stones moments are a result of jagger's delivery. I feel like I'd be lying if I chose anyone else. Though Keef, Taylor and Jones are all awfully close. But really Jagger's probably my favorite vocalist of all time, and none of those other guys are my favorite guitarist.

brian jones, followed closely by mick.

I can't listen to the Rolling Stones any more, thanks to Mick Jagger and his vomited vocals. (I did vote for Charlie Watts, however.)

Voted for Charlie because he has the best apocryphal stories: compulsively sketching every hotel room, not having a driver's license but owned a dozen cars with a matching suit and this:

A famous anecdote relates that during the mid-1980s, an intoxicated Jagger phoned Watts's hotel room in the middle of the night asking where "my drummer" was. Watts reportedly got up, shaved, dressed in a suit, put on a tie and freshly shined shoes, descended the stairs and punched Jagger in the face, saying: "Don't ever call me your drummer again. You're my fucking singer!"
