"Bring It On Home To Me" by a surprisingly large margin.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 19 November 2009 13:29 (sixteen years ago)

No no no no no n-no-no-no no no-no no no-no n-no-no-no-no-no

Second place: "Backstabbers"
Then: War, Surpremes, Major Lance, Cooke twice, GnR, Little Anthony, etc.

But Human Beinz win.

This is tough one, but probably going with Major Lance, "Monkey Time."

Meade Lex Louis (James Redd and the Blecchs), Thursday, 19 November 2009 15:56 (sixteen years ago)

"Love Child" for sure.

if I don't see more dissent, I'm going to have to check myself in (Matos W.K.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 17:53 (sixteen years ago)

Nobody But Me

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 19 November 2009 18:09 (sixteen years ago)

Byrds over Sister Re and GnfR. I love a lot of these; I hope "Smokey Joe's Cafe" gets some love here too.

Yah Kid A (Euler), Thursday, 19 November 2009 20:07 (sixteen years ago)

A number of good ones here, but I'll go with the Byrds (I also love Dusty Springfield's version).

O'Jays over Byrds, Supremes and G'N'R. One of the all-time great slow-burn intros.

I though xhuxk was doing 2 Unlimited's No Limit for a minute there.

Dorian (Dorianlynskey), Friday, 20 November 2009 09:44 (sixteen years ago)

young and impatient we may be/but now's the time to act foolishly

Ward Fowler, Friday, 20 November 2009 10:27 (sixteen years ago)

For me, probably the strongest group yet. Four masterpieces I'm not tired of: "Goin' Back" (I remember Rob Sheffield once writing something negative about it--you broke my heart, Rob, you broke my heart), "It Hurts to Be in Love," "Give Me Just a Little More Time," "The World Is a Ghetto." A few more I sometimes am: Johnny Ace, Human Beinz, Miracles, Little Anthony, Guns N' Roses, Supremes. And some pretty good songs above and beyond all that. I'll vote for War. Or I'll be like John Kerry and vote against War before I vote for War.

Johnny Ace, Byrds, Pitney, Chairmen, Butler, "Nobody But Me", "Bring It On Home To Me", J. Taylor, L. Anthony, Robins, War, Del Shannon, Supremes are all top notch. But I'm voting O'Jays. "Back Stabbers" has one of those unmistakable opening riffs (e.g. "I Want You Back").
