Flying Dewaele Brothers - > They have just finished mixing the new Sugababes single. S'posed to do the new Ladytron and a bunch of better known (hah! so why can't i remember) acts. Oh maybe Garabage? Could be.

nathalie, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I had no idea Ladytron had new elpee out so soon after last one, is only due to YOU WONDERFUL WONDERFUL KIDS that i discovered this. Slightly concerned that it only seems to have a US release date thus far and not a UK one, but am sure this will sort itself out. 604 was my favourite album of last year, Ladytron are a beautiful dream of a band.

Your tape is very nice.

"Fresher than the Sweetness in Water" is stunning, my fave Gorky's track. But what's that I see on Side 1...no, it couldn't be...why, yes it's true, someone actually still listens to Menswear. Pah!

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Eh-hem. That's Menswe@r, I think you'll find... don't try and deny their zeitgeistness.

who are Flying Dewaele Brothers? a song called 'smells like booty' MUST be good.

S.Fuck, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That'd be Soulwax being DJ persons doing the bootleg thing with Smells Like Teen Spirit and Bootylicious. That would.

Mr Swygart, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I first read it as "Improv Workshop Mimeshow Gobshite Gorky's Zygotic Mynci" by Half Man half Biscuit which sounded pretty damn plausible.

Actually I love the Gorky's, but their last album is pretty damn weak.

Winkelmann, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is that Gorky's track a cover of the Honeybus song of the same name, incidentally?

Rob M, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, and bonus points for the Tremblies and Radar Bros, good tape, I can hear it in my head....

Rob M, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oooh, what's that agsfb track? don't think i have that one...

stevie, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't actually own the album, just downloaded a load of the stuff one night (uni broadband + CD-burner + AudioGalaxy when it worked = JOY!)... Dreamy You is probably better, but I'd already done a tape with that on.

is ray cane in honeybus? if so then the gorky's song is a honeybus cover, he gets the writing credit.

keith, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yep, Ray Cane was in Honeybus... well I never, I always wondered when I saw the Gorkys song come up if it was one and the same, and yes it is.
