I wish "Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa" could've been combined with "Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-ooma-mow-mow", as they function better as a lyrical diptych, but I begrudgingly opted for the latter. SURFIN BURD WROCKS MY FACE.

System, Tuesday, 1 December 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

one year passes...

Semms apposite to revive this now.

See, it's at number three in the chart.

Does this mean I can go along to my local disc vendor and buy a nice pristeen copy on 7"?

No it does not.

Mark G, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 12:05 (fifteen years ago)

The Interior Life of Mark G thread would evidently be riveting.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 12:07 (fifteen years ago)

Am I just being a grump if I don't it being co-opted by Brits in Santa panties?

전승 Complete Victory (in Battle) (NotEnough), Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:32 (fifteen years ago)

lol but uh yeah, where? Is it vying for christmas #1 or something.

btw this is an essential poll and I'm sad to have missed it the first time around.

oh God that is so disappointing

ENBB, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:40 (fifteen years ago)

Oh no, was thinking it was a typo for "parties"

Mark G, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:41 (fifteen years ago)

I assumed it would be lady panties.

ENBB, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:41 (fifteen years ago)

OK, sorry if I'm boring any of youse, but I would like it a bit if this was used on the Christmas TOTP.

not the panties, obv...

Mark G, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:42 (fifteen years ago)

Sorry guys. I wish it was lady panties too.

rake rock reggae (kkvgz), Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:43 (fifteen years ago)

The man in that video is probably the worst person in Britain right now.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:46 (fifteen years ago)

can someone explain how this went to #3?

skip, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:52 (fifteen years ago)

Facebook campaign to get it to Christmas #1 ahead of the X-Factor single. Same as Rage Against The Machine last year, except that was actually successful.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:53 (fifteen years ago)

I'm actually surprised it made number three.

Mark G, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 14:59 (fifteen years ago)

Being heavily featured in an episode of Family Guy a wee while back probably helped somewhat.

Bernard V. O'Hare (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 December 2010 15:00 (fifteen years ago)

That brit on the video is awkward, not funny. It makes it look like prostitution, like he seriously needed money to pay for medicine for his mother or rent or something.

Moka, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 18:24 (fifteen years ago)

Made me laugh uncontrollably and unashamed to admit it. Credit the editing most of all. But also I loved it 'cause it reminds me of this:

Lazarus Niles-Burnham (res), Wednesday, 22 December 2010 08:26 (fifteen years ago)

one month passes...

A kid in my class came in a couple of Mondays ago and asked if I could switch over to "Surfin' Bird" for the hurry-up music we play each morning before announcements--he'd heard it on Family Guy the night before. So I put the Trashmen on a CD and we used it for a couple of weeks...until the principal gently suggested that she couldn't take it anymore. As of this morning, we've moved on to the Batman theme.
