love this.
girl group from san francisco. play kinda simple catchy old pop songs about love. hella pretty voices. i was listening to their older demo type stuff a while back, but a lot of it's been re-recorded for the album and made much cleaner and better imo.

i've got this album. "by the sea" is a great song to listen to immediately after waking up in the morning.

yeah awful band name, although kind of appropriate in its disregard for sounding cool. they sound really natural and effrortless about everything, and were probably having too much fun to come up with an actual good band name.

Hmm. I'll take your word for it. If I like this band, I will start another ILM thread on them in a couple of weeks for only $5. Email me.

i dunno, i kinda like the name. there are certainly far worse things to call a band. you're right about the effortlessness of their sound, it's not really groundbreaking or way out there or anything it's just really beautiful and right.
'relax at the beach' is so chill

four months pass...

I've really come to like this album a lot more than the album title and cover would imply. "Beatle Screams" off the 7" gets lots of play at the house too.

Am listening to the new album, Mrs. Jones' Cookies, and I'm really liking this. The singing reminds me of Tanya Donelly (which is a good thing), it's a very Mazzy Star-esque album with traces of Patti Smith. I'd never heard anything by them before, but apart from the bandname I am really digging this!

They have also done stuff with Sonny Smith of Sonny and the Sunsets... there is a "Sonny and the Sandwitches" EP. And one of the Sandwitches sings as "Earth Girl Helen Brown."

Oh yeah, and the Sandwitches used to be in the Fresh and Onlys.
