It's really good. I'm glad "Home" is kind of taking off as a single (even though it's not an official single).

So weird he's the dude from IMA Robot.

I hadn't seen them until just now. The last time I checked, they didn't really have any real videos.

That Letterman clip is pretty fucking good. They remind me of the Mekons or something. I got sick of hearing this song on the NFL commercials and decided to investigate. Is the album worth checking out?

Is the album worth checking out?

I think so. It's got a really great run of songs for the first 2/3rds and then sort of trails off at the end.

Another one of their songs is in the Ford Focus commercial, btw (where the people are holding arrow signs and dancing around the car).

I Googled after seeing th NFL commercials too *blushes*

i was wondering why that song seemed familiar.

this really isn't a band for me. listened to album about two and a half times, was enough.

it's a good band

I see this album EVERYWHERE, but I don't think I've knowingly heard a single song. Had no idea this was the dude from Ima Robot until today.

Which, by the way, if you've ever wanted to hear an L.A. band that formerly specialized in glossed up post-punk do their own take on Animal Collective (and I can't imagine that anyone ever would want to do this willingly) then you should check out "Pass It On" from the new Ima Robot disc.

Congrats, Edward & co! You are my new hate-on for the forseeable future.

This song is really bad. Poor man's AnCo with an inexplicable Aussie accent.

what a terrible fucking band!

honestly if you can manage to make mid-60s psych/garage pastiche, something i generally just find likeable even if it's mediocre, intolerable to me you are really really bad

i dont think ive ever heard these dudes, but one of them endorses a guitar line we sell, so i wish them huge and international success

who makes these great sounding Edwin Sharpe endorsed guitars, which i understand are a tremendous value for the money?

Saw their Letterman appearance and couldn't believe they existed: found the whole thing's an act (a conscious one, anyway) and it did not make it better

albvivertine, Friday, 23 August 2013 08:13 (twelve years ago)

Whoa I just realizaed the only song I actually know from them is Home. I thought Of Monsters nd Men 'Little Talks' and Lumineers 'Hey Ho' was also them since its the same kind of band and song... the three of them have those 'hey' before the chorus, kept thinking they should think of another songwriting trick.
