FFS 50-OPTION POLLS SUCK

Twisted Hipster (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:29 (sixteen years ago)

oh man everytime i see this thing i feel sick. found the vinyl issue without the box and sleeves for £30.00 but had no cash so decided to go back first thing next morning, only to discover someone had bought it like 10 minutes before i got there.

FFS 50-OPTION POLLS SUCK

― Twisted Hipster (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:29 (14 minutes ago)

what actually suck is the limit of 50 options. so I must do this kind of poll 3 times.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:45 (sixteen years ago)

"must"

Twisted Hipster (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:45 (sixteen years ago)

what actualy suck is that i haven't heard most of these

mdskltr (blueski), Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:49 (sixteen years ago)

I've got the 15 vol verzh and I can't remember what half of them sound like.

Twisted Hipster (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:55 (sixteen years ago)

Why is "It's Over" listed twice?

I agree that 50 option polls are a bit of a waste, especially in a poll like this where maybe 20 people will vote.

I also haven't heard most of these! (which does suck)

NoTimeBeforeTime, Saturday, 28 November 2009 15:58 (sixteen years ago)

The later one is shorter.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Saturday, 28 November 2009 16:00 (sixteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Sunday, 20 December 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

uhm, okay..

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 20 December 2009 01:40 (sixteen years ago)

I just remembered that I forgot to vote. It's either Geraldine Hunt - Can't Fake The Feeling or First Choice - Let No Man Put Asunder.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 20 December 2009 01:41 (sixteen years ago)

Weird, I never even saw this poll.

I have played most of the good stuff on this list in public(not much of a feat, nothing on the list is that rare/obscure) and the one record I could always count on moving a floor was Que Tal America by Two Man Sound. It didn't matter where you were or what was being played, that record filled the floor every time.

then I got napster and the world became a more interesting place. (Display Name), Sunday, 20 December 2009 02:53 (sixteen years ago)

I never saw this, either, and I actually own a copy of the original vinyl box set. Picking one song would have been really, really hard.

xhuxk, Sunday, 20 December 2009 02:56 (sixteen years ago)

I voted for ESP. The system works!

one time, Sunday, 20 December 2009 03:20 (sixteen years ago)

Do this poll over.

queen frostine (Eric H.), Sunday, 20 December 2009 03:54 (sixteen years ago)

poor turn out. i never saw this before. can we do it again?

stirmonster, Sunday, 20 December 2009 05:36 (sixteen years ago)

i'll do the next volumes. do you think the I should reduce the number of options?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 20 December 2009 06:48 (sixteen years ago)

for those who didn't have the chance to participate, please just state your pick. thanks.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 20 December 2009 06:49 (sixteen years ago)

Man this thread just makes me feel bad about how nothing short of embarrassingly few of these I know.

EDB, Monday, 21 December 2009 05:11 (sixteen years ago)

EDB, everytime I see your name it makes me think you're Daniel Bell.

D Train - You're The One For Me
Raw Silk - Do It To The Music
Sparque - Let's Go Dancing
Sharon Redd - Can You Handle It
Jimmy Bo Horne - Spank
Positive Force - We Got The Funk
Candido - Jingo
Martin Circus - Disco Circus
D Train - Keep On
T-Connection - At Midnight
Fat Larry's Band - Act Like You Know

don't these (great) tracks predate the House Sound of Chicago? many are associated w/larry levan and the paradise garage and yeah, I know there's a connection but how about another poll based on those profile records comps that came out around 87-88 titled IIRC gotta have house music. I would like to vote for "it's all right" by blaze or possibly another liz torres track I can't recall the title of.

but if you haven't heard the nine-minute francois kevorkian mix of 'can you handle it' by sharon redd -- get to work.

chief rocker frankie crocker (m coleman), Monday, 21 December 2009 13:58 (sixteen years ago)

They were a separate volume in the comp and were meant to represent influences.

then I got napster and the world became a more interesting place. (Display Name), Monday, 21 December 2009 14:19 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I was thinking a poll ought to be done with just the first two discs.
