I just wrote 200 words on "Big Pimpin'" for a decade countdown and have no desire to hear it.

Voting for Son by Four for the sake of the salsa version of that song, even though this is presumably the other version.

(At one point I was dating a singer who walked down the street with me singing "A Puro Dolor," so there are some pretty specific associations in play, plus memories of hearing it in clubs. I do think it's a good song though, if you can tolerate a certain amount of schmaltz.)

i don't know why the misogyny in "big pimpin" (first verse especially) bothers me more than a lot of other song-lyric misogyny, but it does. the beat and hook are massive, but the song's pretty ugly.

(and yes i realize that complaining about sexism in a song called "big pimpin" is sort of an exercise in futility. but still.)
