rappers/DJs either born in the caribbean or with caribbean parents:

Bushwick Bill
Busta Rhymes
KRS-One
Grap Luva
The Notorious B.I.G.
Pete Rock
DJ Spinderella

(all Jamaican)

Phife Dawg
Pras
Wyclef Jean

(Haitian)

That's all I know offhand. Does anyone have any rappers to add to this list? I know I'm forgetting a lot and I was intrigued by how many golden era rappers are caribbean.

of the original holy three, DJ Kool Herc, Bambaataa & Grandmaster Flash -- Flash's parents migrated to the US from the Caribbean, Bambaataa's parents were from NY but he always mentioned his family identified Caribbean & he grew up with the culture, and Kool Herc was born in Jamaica & moved to the Bronx at age 13 having grown up on toasting & block parties. Most of the books on the history of hip hop mention that it's a direct lineage

well there's been more of an influx of Caribs to NY than the big cities on the west coast.

I just thought of Juju from the Beatnuts, whose folks are from the Dominican Republic. Technically Puerto Rico is also caribbean which would open the door to a lot of other rappers making the list.
