wordy fappinghood (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 01:03 (fifteen years ago)

but seriously, guys, watch yourself

wordy fappinghood (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 01:04 (fifteen years ago)

holy shit, this is a list

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 December 2009 01:15 (fifteen years ago)

kinda want to go back and listen to all of these but this is like, golden age of kevin k @ summer camp, can't imagine choosing anything over "lucky" tho

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 December 2009 01:16 (fifteen years ago)

voted em for visceral impact. (not that shake ya ass isn't visceral.)

hellzapoppa (tipsy mothra), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 01:17 (fifteen years ago)

gotta be the best list yet, right?

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 December 2009 01:18 (fifteen years ago)

see i just went "fuck pop music in 2009" in the other thread and THIS IS WHY - sooooo many amazing songs here!

Britney Spears - Lucky - Jive - 8/12/00 - 61
Eminem - The Way I Am - Aftermath/Interscope - 8/26/00 - 87
Erykah Badu - Bag Lady - Motown - 8/19/00 - 67
Ghostface Killah - Cherchez LaGhost - Epic/Wu-Tang/Razor Sharp - 8/5/00 - 98
Kandi - Don't Think I'm Not - Columbia - 8/5/00 - 66
Madonna - Music - Warner Bros. - 8/12/00 - 41
Mya - Case of the Ex (Whatcha Gonna Do) - Interscope - 8/19/00 - 72
Mystikal - Shake Ya Ass - Jive - 8/12/00 - 97
Pink - Most Girls - LaFace - 8/12/00 - 85

^^^^^fucking YES to all of those

lex pretend, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:02 (fifteen years ago)

i mean it's obv "case of the ex" right?

and you told me that she turned trick
when y'all broke up in '96

i LOVE the use of "y'all" to denote two people

lex pretend, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:03 (fifteen years ago)

?

y'all always means at least two people. there is no singular y'all.

hellzapoppa (tipsy mothra), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:09 (fifteen years ago)

it's really not unusual for "y'all" to mean two - it's just "you, plural," not "you all, usually lots of you"

voted "lucky" for sentimental reasons

Herodcare for the Unborn (J0hn D.), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:11 (fifteen years ago)

and as noted in other threads on the subject, when the "you" gets bigger than a small group, it properly becomes "all y'all."

hellzapoppa (tipsy mothra), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:13 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, this is case of the ex vs. lucky

"there's no need to reminisce 'bout the past
obviously, 'cause that shit did not last"

avatar brothers (Tape Store), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:15 (fifteen years ago)

"rich people have problems, too" is a favorite theme of mine, tho, so i think i'll vote lucky

avatar brothers (Tape Store), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:18 (fifteen years ago)

i get y'all but "when you all broke up in '96" still sounds kinda odd, like there's more than 2 people breaking up

lex pretend, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:18 (fifteen years ago)

wow, this one is roughly a million times better than the last two. would rep the hell out of the first five (am pretending aaron tippin isn't there to spoil things).

KANDI! KANDI!! KANDI!!!

uninspired girls rejoice!!! (Hoot Smalley), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 03:21 (fifteen years ago)

LFO!

It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet
Like we're livin' on a movie set
Montague and Capulet
Make your daddy sweat
Cause he's wishin' we had never met!

That was WITHOUT a cheat sheet thankyouverymuch. (Had no idea that thing charted.)

dr. phil, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 04:02 (fifteen years ago)

Holy shit LFO had a track featuring M.O.P. on their second album????

you gone float up with it (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 04:04 (fifteen years ago)

i have never heard that song, can still quote Summer Girls like it's no one's bizness

musically, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 04:06 (fifteen years ago)

gotta be "Case of the Ex," one of the best R&B hits of the decade, but "Hey Papi" is awesome too.

the amount of love for "Lucky" is really scaring me, I think 90% of all Britney songs are garbage anyway but that one's really the pits

some dude, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 04:37 (fifteen years ago)

there's maybe 3 songs ever I hate more than "summer girls" and I can't think of any of them offhand

Herodcare for the Unborn (J0hn D.), Tuesday, 22 December 2009 04:39 (fifteen years ago)

― some dude, Monday, December 21, 2009 11:37 PM (Yesterday)

it's basically a way better produced lily allen's "22", brit is super tolerable vocally, killer hook and bridge, and cool video (havent seen it since i was uh, 11, but remember it being dope")

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 December 2009 06:22 (fifteen years ago)

brit's super hit and miss for me tho

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 December 2009 06:23 (fifteen years ago)

"Lucky" over Ghostface

Euler, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 06:42 (fifteen years ago)

very shrewd, kevin, appealing to my well-known love of lily allen (?)

some dude, Tuesday, 22 December 2009 07:33 (fifteen years ago)

ha i was just saying the two have similar themes, didnt really plan on winning you over tbh

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 December 2009 12:12 (fifteen years ago)

can't believe people are repping Lucky, the video was cute but honestly even as a 13 year old I was like "damn this is cheesy".

forkslovecraftcthulhu (some dude), Monday, 28 December 2009 00:04 (fifteen years ago)

srsly wtf. there aint much i'm in love with on the list but the screaming birth of emonem is the last thing i look back on fondly

da croupier, Monday, 28 December 2009 01:06 (fifteen years ago)

i'd even take ladies-night-karaoke-bait like "lucky" over it, easy
