Dear God, I Hate Myself is the forthcoming seventh studio album by American band Xiu Xiu set for release on 23rd February 2010. This is their first album since the departure of Caralee McElroy and features new member Angela Seo.

I didn't know Caralee left! awww. glad to hear there's a new record though, it's been a while.

didn't feel like starting a new thread but Always is my favorite since Fabulous Muscles.

to elaborate a bit, it's very much akin to that album - frontloaded with outright pop tunes (four of them in this case), followed up with noise-agitprop akin to "Support the Troops" ("I Luv Abortion"), and back to pop and even some balladry before wrapping up with the scariest/most unsettling tune a la "Mike." once a few more ears get on this one it might be a good time for an album/EP poll.

Always feels like the first Xiu Xiu album in a very long time that non I Luv U JS fanclub members might want to check out. Although, I don't know, I can't really speak for these non-members.

I need to hear this, I really didn't feel his last couple.

It looks like a couple of those tracks might be reworkings of IBOPA songs, his between-Ten in the Swear Jar-and-Xiu Xiu band, which was really great.

really bad fonts on those album covers, hate that "RARE" font.. the always cover is also kind of a deterrent.
