Hangar 18. That tempo change riff-solo-riff-solo coda still kills.

Thijs, Wednesday, 13 January 2010 16:44 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, gotta go with "Hangar 18" myself.

you gone float up with it (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 13 January 2010 16:45 (sixteen years ago)

Hangar 18 once more.

Marty Innerlogic, Wednesday, 13 January 2010 16:46 (sixteen years ago)

I always liked how "Five Magics" did the sword and sorcery thing in the middle of an album which is otherwise about nuclear apocalypse.

"Hangar 18" wins for me as well.

Neil S, Wednesday, 13 January 2010 16:47 (sixteen years ago)

The long creeping intro to Five Magics is wonderful, the main body of the song a little so-so.

i remember the first time i heard that song, i was kinda like writing them off already after "so far so good so what" had kinda blown a little. and then the first minute of that song just totally killed me.

This whole thing RULES. The ending of Hangar 18 is sick, but I may have to reserve judgement until I listen to this again.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Tuesday, 19 January 2010 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

Right answer, but low turn out. Maybe some ILM metal folks missed this one because the thread title didn't have MEGADETH in it.

Thijs, Tuesday, 19 January 2010 07:45 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I missed this. Would've voted "Holy Wars", the best song on there by a mile.

Haha, there is a whole Wikipedia page about people who have pissed off/been pissed off by Dave Mustaine.

...and the trees are all kept equal by hatchet, axe and SAW! (Turrican), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 20:33 (eleven years ago)

Incredible intro, the rest of the song doesn't quite live up to it.

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Thursday, 26 June 2014 11:10 (eleven years ago)

Oh I see I said exactly the same thing four years ago.

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Thursday, 26 June 2014 11:12 (eleven years ago)
