Forgive me for jumping the gun, because I haven't quite got my thoughts together on it yet, but I'm of the opinion tha this song deserves it's own thread.

Love this song.

I'm not sure what else to say about it.. ummm..
It sounds like George Harrison played guitar on it but he probably didn't.

Nope, that was one of the Todd Rundgren-produced songs. George and Pete Ham play the slide solo together on "Day After Day" though.

I love this song too. It makes me yearn.

I heard the SF Seals version of this first and have always sort of preferred it to the original.

Cool, I guess. Matthew Sweet/Susanna Hoffs Sid n Susie version is pretty nice.

I noticed this thread yesterday, but I don't watch Breaking Bad, so I didn't get the connection until I heard something on the radio this morning. That's great--Top 20 in downloads on Billboard, I think they said. One of my favourite songs in 1972 (though I loved "Day After Day" just a bit more).

Aimee Mann did a great version of this as well, but the original is unimpeachable.

I do shows as Joey Molland’s Badfinger. I’ve been doing that for years. I’m the only Badfinger guy left!
God, I hate Joey Molland.

Eh, he's gotta make a living somehow.
Although, he did the "Joey Molland's Badfinger" thing in the early 80s when Tom Evans and Mike Gibbins were trying to make another go at Badfinger -- the latter two obviously having more of a claim to the name than Molland alone. After a heated phone conversation with Molland about this and other business issues Molland was fighting him on, Evans hanged himself.
OK, yeah, I hate Joey Molland too. Fuck that guy.

I've been telling people how much I love "Baby Blue" and "Day After Day" for 40 years--I think I deserve some of that money too.

Oh yeah, a bit like "The Sun goes down" Dave Dee Dozy etc.

You are docked for not mentioning "No Matter What," Phil.

What I can't understand is the relative obscurity of Just A Chance, which has always been my favorite

I like "No Matter What," James, and I know for many people it's their signature song, but it doesn't rank with the other two for me.
The final Breaking Bad scene is on YouTube for the moment--maybe it'll be taken down soon. (And reposted, and taken down, etc.) Obviously, don't watch it if you plan on catching up with the series someday, like I do. I watched it anyway.

Seems like "Day After Day" should be their signature song. It always felt like their most famous song, or at least it did during the 80s and early 90s.
Their 5 biggest hits would be a good poll.
