Has anyone heard anything from this Sheffield-based label? Sort of a (*ahem*) loose collective. Been getting heaps of praise in the Wire in the past few months (I know, I know....). Still, I'm intrigued.
Any recommendations?

Okay this Harappian Night Recordings stuff is pretty good post-SCG shit. Try 'Bare Cairo'?

all the wire attention seems very sudden, to pigeon hole this as a sheffield thing is pretty short sighted, id say it was a wider DIY north of england thing reaching to manchester and leeds which has been going on the last few years. i did gigs with them in about 2006

Psykick Dancehall presents:
Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides / Hobo Sonn / Bad Orb / Helhesten
Psykick Dancehall's second gig at the CCA to celebrate the release of the new installment of our series of compilations documenting the UK underground, featuring:
Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides
Alchemical flute and drums duo who were recently featured in the Wire magazine. Kelly's Anthony Braxton-like free playing, and haunted elongated drones are underpinned and then blown apart by Pascal's fractured percussive rainfall and abstract, reverbed glossolalia. This is PWHMOBS's first gig in Glasgow.
Hobo Sonn
Dense, micro-detailed drone and stretched free-rock passages all filtered through a discontinued sampler. Another first time performance in Glasgow!
Bad Orb
Bad Orb is the solo project of Sara Albury who used to play in Leopard Leg and Polly Shang Kuan Band, like Hobo Sonn, she hails from Brighton where they are both key players in around the Chocolate Monk freak-stable. Bad Orb creates a complex debris from field recordings, old 78s, and her voice. Another first trip to Glasgow.
Helhesten
Trio from glasgow creating a glorious confusion out of acoustic guitar, clarinet, voice and tape constructs.
