man... as much as "southern hospitality" is a genuinely monumental song in my life, "stutter" is just so, so fucking good

"By Your Side" is a classic and "Soul Sista" is cool, but "Southern Hospitality" is one of the most bangingest bangers ever

voted "Jaded," weirdly enough. would've voted "Stutter" (which is not called "Stutters," wtf) if it was the remix w/ Mystikal that hit #1 a month later, although who knows if that even had a seperate Billboard entry from the original.

"Southern Hospitality" is great but I'm honestly tired of seeing it on so many more end-of-decade lists than "What's Your Fantasy" and/or lots of other Neptunes tracks from the same period that I like more.

it's "southern hospitality" but i voted "by your side" - "stutter" not far behind, "you make me sick" also great but i preferred the other singles of pink's first album. she really did use to be great as an r&b act

"You Make Me Sick" is horrible, I couldn't get into the Pink's early singles at all. I think I'm going to pick The Corrs here!

Don't sleep on the album tracks on the first Pink album, it's astonishingly consistent.

heard the Beatnuts joint at a party last night. went over quite well.

i bet you for like half the people (% may vary) it was more like "oh ive heard this pop song before" but finding themselves unable to place it, just had vaguely positive associations

yeah probably

there are a TON of R&B tracks from the oughts that just jack a beat from a '90s rap classic and let someone sing over it without really adding or changing much, but imo "Stutter" is one in particular that doesn't really deserve to be called a bite or treated like that's the only thing the song has going for it. plus that main organ (or w/e it is) line feels so different in the context of the new beat, whole thing is so much more icy and slick than "Passin' Me By" and gives it a way diff't vibe.

Nothing says pre-Strokes 00s rock quite like Crazy Town's Butterfly. Horrible song.
