Just listening to this for the first time today. Clapton's solo on 'While my Guitar Gently Weeps' is utterly underwhelming. Blame it on the heroin?

Dylan's set is good, but other than that, pretty much a dud.

eleven years pass...

Hilarious:

50 years ago, mike jahn's new york times review of the concert for bangladesh calls out a "middle-aged writer" for talking through the concert. a few days later, kurt vonnegut writes a letter of apology for chomping. pic.twitter.com/61xEuOLCDr

Just for posterity, "50 years ago, mike jahn's new york times review of the concert for bangladesh calls out a 'middle-aged writer' for talking through the concert. a few days later, kurt vonnegut writes a letter of apology for chomping." I've never listened to anything else by him, but (regardless of what the Simpsons thinks) I really enjoy the Ravi Shankar piece on this.
Dylan's "Love Minus Zero" (on the re-release) and Harrison's "Bangla Desh" are two other good tracks. This record was also the first time I noticed Leon Russell, who holds his own in this company.

I wish George had backed Dylan for a tour.
