Here's how it works:
- A poster gives a description of characteristics or traits to locate on an album cover or covers- The first person to post a successful response gets to make the next request- you may ask for up to three album covers featuring a trait (responses preferably posted in same post)- be reasonable - don't make up stuff that is unlikely to exist on any album cover anywhere (winston churchill in drag on a unicorn, etc.) or ask for three covers featuring something exceedingly unusual
Ok first one:

Okay, we may need an arbiter on this one, but I think I've done it.
First -- Herbie Hancock is replaced by a weird mechanical tribal mask thing:http://sinistersaladmusikal.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/herbie-hancock-head_hunters_album.jpg
Second -- Linda Thompson is replaced by a photograph (albeit a photo of Linda Thompson)http://images.jamsbio.com/images/thompson/thompsonA.jpg
Third -- Chris Funk is repalced by a tree (albeit with Chris Funk's face poking out...)http://leeraloo.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/album-picaresque.jpg
I will await a ruling before I post my challenge.
― mottdeterre, Monday, 25 January 2010 20:19 (sixteen years ago)
I reckon that's as close as anyone is going to get: well done on Headhunters and Rich&Linda Thompson - they totally qualify as far as I can see.
Your request, sir?
― De que estas hablando? (Tannenbaum Schmidt), Monday, 25 January 2010 21:38 (sixteen years ago)
Three covers where the artists have been replaced by dolls (or other such "avatars") that resemble the artists. Drawings don't count, so the Who By Numers or Aerosmith's Draw the Line, as examples, will be disqualified.
On your marks, get set, go.

Thinking about it some more, I don't reckon that the W&G album counts, because Peter Sallis doesn't look much like Wallice. So I'm swapping it for this...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/67/Pepper%27s.jpgThe Beatles have been replaced with wax dummies of themselves, while the real Beatles in the picture are pretending to be members of Sgt Pepper's band.

Well I need to get some sleep now, so mottdeterre, if my three ('werk/Beatles'werk) are acceptable, then my pick is "3 covers with photographs of eagles on them, but not albums by the US band The Eagles". Otherwise, keep on.

Find three "misleading" album covers: covers that would suggest the music inside is one thing when in fact it's something else. Here's an example:

The cover shot suggest glam when in fact it's singer/songwriter blue-eyed soul/pop
