damn thought that was "love on the inside." kind of mind-boggling that their live album (which apparently has r.e.m. and "loveshack" covers) outsold their actual album

een, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 06:29 (sixteen years ago)

green day duh

Toss up between Kelly Clarkson and Maxwell, but tbh I've listened to the Kelly album way way way more.

Taylor ahead of Maxwell, but the Whitney album is way underrated.

even though it dries up around the seventh song, the initial run from 'fearless' to 'you belong with me' is the most consistently great 25 minutes of music i heard all last year. maxwell is solid but not as exciting.

samosa gibreel, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 07:47 (sixteen years ago)

have heard these ones in full...in order:

Taylor Swift - Fearless
Maxwell - BLACKsummers'night
Demi Lovato - Here We Go Again

^^the keepers, all made my year-end top 20

Chrisette Michele - Epiphany - pretty and occasionally moving but ehhh, the songs aren't quite there throughout, ultimately a bit too over-stylised
Whitney Houston - I Look to You - it's nice that Whitney's happy again and the single had more legs than I gave it credit for at the time - there's a really nice Mike Simonetti edit of it too
Rick Ross - Deeper Than Rap - a few solid jams but Officer Ross will just never be an A-lister to me
Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. - oddly anonymous as an album and even the good singles aggravated me by the end of the year, let alone the terrible "I Gotta Feeling" - at this point all I want from the BEPs is another Fergie solo album, their ideas on her last one outstrip everything else they've ever done
Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted - forced attitude, forced jollity, forced smiles; this just has nothing on My December
