Rust. by far.

Jamie_ATP, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 15:05 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, I know that's gonna take it. the riffs are just so classy.

original bgm, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 15:06 (sixteen years ago)

I've been listening to tons of Demolition Hammer recently, so the temptation is there - but I gotta go with Rust as well.

you gone float up with it (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 15:09 (sixteen years ago)

always when dave starts crying about how everyone yells "metallica!" at him in some kind of monster. you just know guys yell, "metallica sucks, rust in peace!!!" at him too.

demolition hammer

but those are three odd choices

i don't even know, though, DH were part of a way too short-lived ULTRATHRASH* movement, really brutal, ripping stuff that seemed like a response to grind-influenced death metal at the time.

* I JUST MADE THAT UP, IT'S MINE TM COPYRIGHT.

nice. you should do an ULTRATHRASH poll.

original bgm, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 15:33 (sixteen years ago)

and the megadeth and sepultura are long time faves that I still thrash to on the regular. threw in demolition hammer because it's nice to have an underdog, imo

original bgm, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 15:35 (sixteen years ago)

i still listen to sepultura on a regular basis. megadeth less so because i've only got them on cassette.

rust in peace was so good that I upgraded my cassette when I joined columbia house. it helped that I only knew like 5 bands at the time.

original bgm, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 15:41 (sixteen years ago)

always when dave starts crying about how everyone yells "metallica!" at him in some kind of monster.

He's such a moany little bitch in that film. Rust in Peace trounces all comers in this poll though. But why not more options?

BTW, I'm frightfully middle-class (chap), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 16:40 (sixteen years ago)

just wanted to keep things simple.

in hindsight, perhaps I should have titled this "best thrash album (imo)"

original bgm, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 18:11 (sixteen years ago)

I tried a thrash poll once using AMG's list of thrash bands as my criteria and I got some grief over the options.

also Epidemic's "Decameron". i've been hearing so much crossover/classic-defined thrash lately that hearing more 'extreme' thrash is a nice change of pace.
