I'm taking this question to this board because I can't get a response to my question anywhere else, and if any group of people can give me a response to this question, it's this board. I like what Bradford Cox is doing with Atlas Sound's Logos album - how it's basically sample and effects based guitar music composed in a software sequencer, but in this case the guitar is mainly acoustic guitar treated with (a ton of) effects. I feel like this is a novel twist on the idea of loud electric guitar based shoegaze influenced music of bands like No Age, M83, Deerhunter, etc.
Are there any other new bands making sample and effects based acoustic based guitar music similar to Atlas Sound? I'd really like to check them out, but I'm not able to find any.

God that was awkwardly worded, it's been a long day :/

The basic idea's been around a while, people take it different ways -- Keith Fullerton Whitman's done a few things in that vein.

asobi seksu put out an acoustic album recently, though that's not exactly what you meant
acoustics w/ pickups don't take pedal effects well imo which may be part of the problem

In an instrumental vein, you might check out a project from the turn of the last decade called Accelera Deck. More recently, Grouper comes to mind.

there really should be more of this sort of thing though. acoustic guitar and heavily effected electric are a beautiful match

The James Bradshaw album from last year had that feel to my ears.

Blackshaw, yes. I knew I was getting that wrong. The Glass Bead Game is the album.

BenoƮt Pioulard - Temper veers in this direction at times, though it might be a little folksier (in a Grizzly Bear way) than what you're looking for.

Well, if you want to check out an older band with that sound, try Moose. Just got the reissue of "XYZ." Lately I've been looking into the past for shoegaze/indie, so I'll try to think of newer examples.
― Evan, Friday, 29 January 2010 04:10 (sixteen years ago)
shoegaze country. actually 'xyz' is mostly just country, brilliant as it may be. isn't flying saucer attack 'further' the answer here? or is he asking for something else?
― keythkeythkeyth, Friday, 29 January 2010 04:41 (sixteen years ago)
Theres a country tinge, but I'm very surprised most people say Moose that they are country with a shoegaze tinge.

Never thought of it in those terms but you're pretty OTM!

I've linked to this guy before in a Cocteau Twins thread. Acoustic guitar, a few overdubs and lotsa reverb:
