NEWS - Pop songwriting/ producing legend Pete Waterman to write UK's 2010 Eurovision entry!

Now, the Brits did choose an OK song last year, and did the best UK performance for years. But if the Brits want a winner, it's safer to be able to choose between a number of song rather than already deciding the song. The same concept as last year probably means a great and charismatic singer will be chosen, but even a great artist cannot do wonders if the song doesn't hold up.

They've dispensed with the idea that "any member of the public can enter" - as indeed they did last year - and have jumped straight to "here's four stage school kids/musical theatre performers, a group of stage school kids/musical theatre performers, and a group who didn't get past the open auditions on last year's X Factor".

Bring back the fruit eating bears!

Bring back anyone that people outside the UK have heard of. Or failing that, anyone that people in the UK have heard of. It's something when I find myself getting nostalgic for that year when the BBC got Justin from The Darkness as a SFE/YCNY contestant.

Well, A1 did participate in the Norwegian final. They only ended second though.....

Seriously, wtf is it with all five UK contestants singing flat?

Oops forgot about Miss Fitz.

...and actually I thought they were the best of the six. Considering that they didn't even get through to the Boot Camp stage of X Factor last year, that puts the others in a poor light.

I thought Miss Fitz were the best of the initial six. Out of the final three, based on the dreadful song (which isn't even stuck in my head after three repetitions of it, FAIL PETE WATERMAN), I think I'd go for Alexis. It's somehow, for reasons I can't quite qualify, fixed that it's going to be Josh, even though he's fucking rubbish.

I'm Twuntering. This is worse than last year. Much worse. Our winner smiles like Richard Kiel.

I'd like Esma to win this, but she fluffed the lyrics so maybe the GBP won't vote for her. Meanwhile, here's last years winner, who is surely "cursed" (doyousee???) to perform this song and this song only for the rest of his career.
