Just wondering cuz I think that kid is rotten.

Conor Oberst was and remains very good, so shut the hell up.

his last album w/ the 'mystic valley band' had some really dope songs on it -- my more country rock-leaning friends played me some songs and i was surprised at how good they are -- i think this got a double stigma of being trumpeted by the lol olds crowd at rolling stone and getting unfairly shit on by pfork. kinda left them w/o a home here on the net, altho for all i know it might've sold well

The eponymous 2008 album is his best.

i was loving that (s/t) record ~14 months back and was beginning to think he was visionary for awhile. then went back to it 9 months later and the songs just weren't hittin' me.

i never dislike him as much as i expect to, but i rarely like as much as i want to. so i find him sort of frustrating to listen to. (conor, i'm talking about. i've never heard Never Shout Never.) i did actually like cassadega, it seemed more fully produced and the songs seemed more crafted than before -- but then that was one that a lot of real bright eyes fans didn't like, somewhat for those same reasons. i haven't heard anything since, maybe i should check it out. curious about the mystic valley band stuff.

oops apparently it's cassadaga, whatever. i liked "four winds," it was a good catchy pop song that reminded me of the waterboys.

Wiki says:
'In an interview, Ingle revealed that there is no longer an exclamation point after his name and that he will spell NeverShoutNever as one word when he is feeling happy, but three words when he isn't. Warner Bros. Records is spelling his name as "Never Shout Never" for the upcoming release.'
Poor old Warner Bros :-(

Couldn't be more OTM. That's one of my favorite records to come out in years. Outer South was excellent too, at least Oberst's songs on it. All the dislike on ILM for him is silly.
