My music collection starts with Ryan Adams and ends with Warren Zevon, two artists who are/were generally considered jackasses/hard to deal with etc - so what does that say about me? - shoe fits yadda yadda -- (PS i realize Zevon supposedly softened quite a bit later in life, heralded as a genius and wonderful guy and all that, but I never bought into it)

― Mark G, Friday, 5 February 2010 11:39 (fifteen years ago)

I'm glad someone else has an AC Acoustics CD that they'll admit to on the internet. "I Messiah Am Jailer" and "Stunt Girl" were fine tunes iirc.
(I have two copies of the album - had it on CD, much later bought a plunderphonic-ish thing in bootlegged doctored charity-shop-LP sleeves - got the one with doctored AC Acoustics artwork cz I recognised it, and they'd thrown the original owner of the sleeve in too. So I should've bought something I didn't recognise and got TWO new LPs!)

Not really. That's how iTunes sorts everything automatically. It could just mean you don't feel like going through every artist who has a first and last name and reversing them.
― kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 5 February 2010 14:40 (fifteen years ago)
If my collection were reversed like that however, it would change to
Academy of St. Martin in the Field Chamber something => John Zorn
which I can't extrapolate enough from to say anything meaningful about me.

It could just mean you don't feel like going through every artist who has a first and last name and reversing them.
I held out for a while but eventually caved and I think this proved worthwhile. I like having a true alphabetical collection. Gets tricky with hip-hop sometimes -- Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco and similar "stage names" -- where do they go?
