Lot a lot of votes for the first two, but sparked some discussion still. Here is the third, and maybe my least favourite.

And I guess I'll go for "I Get Excited" although as I said, this is basically my least favourite CD 2 (and also my least favourite PSB album, so it figures, I guess)

Voting for the singles seems like cheating, so went for 'Your Funny Uncle'. One of their best 'mature' ballads, a last menacing hint of transgression before comfortable lethargy set in.

Other than "It's Alright" none of the singles are here in their album or 7 inch version though, so I wouldn't say it is. But "Domino Dancin" and "Left To My Own Devices" I feel work best in exactly those 7 inch versions. And they aren't here.

I get Excited v Your Funny Uncle v Losing My Mind

Absolutely impossible.

the batshit crazy "The Sound of the Atom Splitting."

"The Sound of the Atom Splitting" is amazing and "One of the Crowd" is fantastic, but neither is encapsulated perfection in the same way that "Don Juan" is. It still boggles me how much I dislike "Domino Dancing" and how much I adore its b-side.

Hey, "Domino Dancing" is great! But preferrably about those annoying "latin house piano" parts that are in the extended versions.

Do I really have to have this argument again, especially since I think the two of us already had it on a.m.a?

PIES! PIES! PIES! PIES! PIES! (HI DERE), Tuesday, 9 February 2010 20:22 (fifteen years ago)

Well, "The Sound Of The Atom Splitting" was the b-side of some later single, wasn't it? It's basically the only b-side that... Well... It just didn't work. Their attempt at drums'n'bass on "Betrayed" worked much better.

Is "Losing My Mind" the same version as the one in Alternative? I'm with Geir on this one, my least favourite of the Further Listening CDs, although I love Introspective.

Yes, "Losing My Mind" is the same one. Sounds a bit too obviously "demo" and would have needed more polish for me to be able to really appreciate it, I guess.

I voted for "What keeps mankind alive?" one of their bossest Bs (which took forever for me to find at the time). Love the way Neil sings "sto-MECKS!"

Well... It just didn't work

the fuck it didn't. voted it.

ya "Atom Splitting" is fucking great

Don Juan (disco mix) - such a bizarre song. I remember writing down all the lyrics when I was 14 and not being able to make head nor tail of them until I read years later that it was all an elaborate metaphor for the rise of Hitler. That seemed to me to be a pretty fantastic subject for a pop song. I love Neil's delivery on this as well.

I would have either put "I Get Excited (You Get Excited Too)" over the top or been the first vote for "It's Alright" 7-inch.

really thought Your Funny Uncle would walk this, which is why I went "Losing My Mind" (also because it reminds me of the Performance tour DVD).
