Are there any good podcasts covering 1960s/1970s rock?

Like, not just a mix of music, but discussing bands, albums, and scenes?

Other than Sound Opinions, which barely seems to ever do that.

Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know where I can hear 1960s and 1970s radio broadcasts from the glory days of FM--with lots of deep cuts and weirdo DJs (sort of related?)

That's like 7 hours, should tide you over.

http://www.techwebsound.com/

Awesome 60s psych-rock web station, complete with groovy 60s adverts.

That's nice, but there's no shortage of mixes/streams of just music. I'm wondering if there are podcasts of a biographical nature about bands or albums or rock scenes, beyond just "here are 25 songs".

There is this kind of cheesy series of podcasts called "In the Studio with Redbeard" that is like hour long specials about the making of classic rock albums, with interviews and stuff. Google it and you will find, if you are desperate for this kind of stuff, although the level of discourse ain't very elevated

four years pass...

Couldn't find the podcast thread that I posted to a few weeks ago.

It had the GaragePunkPirateRadio on it.

Here is one I enjoy! I like the DJ, too, he tells you all about the records old school style:

powerpopshow.podomatic.com

He did an entire show on AMERICAN GLAM!!

Oh, and the guy who did the American Glam show and who talks a lot is:

Beyond the Beat Generation is not a podcast but an Internet station playing obscure 60s/70s (mostly 60s) rock. Just throwing that out there.
