Paul McCartney will always be a Beatle.

indeed. Terri Yaki, yahoo member since March 20, 2007, says: "Now, if you are talking about the Superman DUNK, Howard gets far more credit for style and elevation. Shaq is a much bigger slab of meat."

Maxwell's silver hammer was on my short list...so is Let it Be and Hey Jude, for the life of me I dont know how any respectable human being can stomach such sappy stink...actually he had a hell of a lot of songs that sucked. For some reason I dont mind I'll follow the sun or even Rocky Racoon or Your mother should know...

"Hey Jude" is top 5 Beatles song to me but I never claimed to be respectable.

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da is by far the most annoying McCartney as a Beatle song. Falls flat, and those lyrics! BLEEDING EARS!
― pworm, Tuesday, 23 February 2010 17:25 (fifteen years ago)
Ob-la-di is just fine. "Long-Winded Road", not.

Sorry Ceci n'est pas, Ob-la-di is a shite song. Long and Winding road is actually pretty decent without the Wall of Sound crap.
― pworm, Tuesday, 23 February 2010 20:49 (fifteen years ago)
I'm with Myonga - "Ob-la-di" is perfectly okay with me though it took me a while to fully allow myself to enjoy it. "Long and Winding Road" is maudlin with or without the production trickery, for me, and that's not what I look for in the best Paul songs.

Martha My Dear
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 23 February 2010 23:00 (fifteen years ago)
"Martha My Dear" is great and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is charming and fun with great Moog.
My vote for "I'm Down", which was 10 years too late stylistically.
