Are "my vitriol" the best new band around?

Of course they are... Nirvana meet My bloody valentine? maybe a bit excessive but they're damn good!

I've only had one encounter with them- the video for "Grounded". As overused as the term "pretentious" is, that's what the video was. Trying so hard to achieve artiness and ending up with nought. The video is bookended with a psychotic-looking man babbling stuff like "What am I doing here? I can't figure it out!" etc. As far as I could tell the music sounded nothing like Nirvana or MBV.. it was a rather bland song that could've come out of a thousand indie bands..maybe it's unfair to judge from one single, but I'm not going to try and find more of this stuff.

Me either. In fact, I'm not going to try to find *any* of it.

I'm afraid I've had it in for them for that stupid name alone. I do have some mp3s kicking around, though, so I will listen first before deciding if that's their only crime or one of many.

I saw them on Top of the Pops...they were just doing an impression of Nirvana. They are more interesting than Starsailor.

Nirvana and My Bloody Valentine? Are we talking about the same My Vitriol here? Or even the same Nirvana and MBV? My first encounter with them was hearing them on XFM when I was ill a while back. They just sound like any other XFM band. Coming soon to the Dublin Castle...and never to leave!

Their songs seem to range from "extremely interesting" to "ZZZZZZZZZZ". I think they're decent and have potential to become really cool, but that's about it.

I would say that comparing my vitriol to nirvana would be like comparing the beatles to oasis. Absolutely no bloody comparison whatsoever.

eight months pass...
They might like to consider writing a few tunes.

Wait, are they still around? I thought it was another dead hype.
