Three men. One show. One True Metal.

Basically I think this is my favorite show on television right now. It reminds me of some metal dudes' public access show given a semi decent Vh1 budget and plenty of airtime.

Basically, they had Joe Lynn Fuckin' TURNER on as the main guest in a show taped in 2010. Deal with that for minute.

Dudes are fucking insane metal dorks...who's favorite band of ALL TIME is UFO fer chrissakes?? Trunk talks about them all the time.

The "Stump the Trunk" thing is unreal....he'll just pull out like the 3rd bassist for Accept out of his butt then be like, "Oh yeah I met him at Donnington in 88 when I was working for Megaforce" and shit...

The other day they had dudes from TT Quick and they were giving Trunk shit for not playing stuff off their DEMO on NY radio back in the day...

anyway this is probably the dorkiest show on the air and it's borderline retarded sometimes but it's amazing.

Damn, I need to get a digital receiver for the tv in my room (all I've got is standard cable in there). Can't be out in the living room watching this for fear of unending ridicule.

I love their debate segments....they were doing Accept Vs. Scorpions and Dave Mustaine was getting made at Don Jameson for writing off the Uli John Roth era of Scorps as "70s psychedelic rock crap"....

that's as real as TV gets IMO.

Basically this show is the only place to go if you want to see Frank Bello of Anthrax telling and anecdote about shitting his pants before going onstage at a Euro metal fest.

eh, he was on oprah re-hashing that same anecdote last week iirc

the Dr. Oz was all like "So...what was your diet like that week? are you getting enough whole grains?"

I love seeing how metal dudes have basically fallen into two camps some 20 years on: "still living the dream with long hair and ripped t-shirts" camp vs. "cleaned up adult with a heart that still beats to the drum of Tommy Lee" camp.

kinda surprised heads are down with this show, i'm not really a metal dude at all and half the time when i watch this i'm like "they're just talking about 70s hard rock." it kind of blows my mind that Jim Florentine's main line of work is as a comedian, he has the voice modulation of a zombie.

they talk about new stuff too though a fair amount.

i basically just love that this show exists.

i'm not saying it's "good" it's just a show i get compulsively into for some weird reason.

I didn't feel bad about dropping cable when I realized how much of this show is online.

enjoyable fun show! yeah there is that "ah for the days of our youth" thing but what can you do -- the proper metal explosion was 20+ years ago, there's no cure for that. I just enjoy how much fun it is -- nobody's trying to show how goddamn up-on-everything/ahead-of-everybody they are, just hangin' out on a set sayin' dumb shit & talking about cool stuff. A+ imo

Watching the Ratt episode from this (?) season online right now. It's kind of fun, but totally insubstantial.

trunk gave an impassioned speech about how deep purple isn't in the rock n' roll hall of fame, it was cute that he still even cares about the RnR hall of fame.

Deep Purple SHOULD be in the hall! Is there a petition I can sign. ;_;

Theyre too good to be in the Hall of Fame. They should kick Sabbath out while their at it. Im more than happy to campaign to keep bands like them, Yes, Rush, etc. out.

this is true about Trunk. I listen to his metal show on Mondays on the "Boneyard" and he fucking loves UFO. He thinks the album they just put out is the greatest thing ever. I love UFO (the Schenker days) but come on.

Absolutely!! Many people who read some of my posts probably think Im insane. I am in no place to judge!

Plus the fact that anybody is talking about UFO and bands like that in this day and age is fantastic.

Shit, I'm totally looking forward to the new Uriah Heep best-of; it has two new songs and a live DVD!

same here! have got to check this one out. this basically sounds like what would result from somebody videotaping a couple of my buddies blabbing at a bbq and putting it on vh1.

everytime i watch this i'm like "i can't believe i'm watching this on a viacom owned cable network"

The interview bit with Chickenfoot was great. Actually, that whole episode with Steve Vai in studio was solid; Vai's story of his Zappa audition is classic.
