Really? I avoided it like the plague when it came out.

Oh, and at one point the camera scans around Brian on a sofa and right next to him is the same model stereo portable from this pic:http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y161/MarkGrout/rplayer.jpg(Except mine still has the handle on it on the top)

anyone with a perspective on this?

I watched it via Netflix and thought it was okay. An odd portrait, but I don't know much about him. My wife thought it was notable for a lot of male frontal nudity, but that the movie did nothing to justify why anyone should care at all about Brian Jones, living or dead.

Wait, what, this film features Brian Jones TOTALL NAKED?!??! I am going to have to watch it in that case!

This movie is more about the repressed assistant/minder dude than it is about Jones.

For some crazy reason I'm always eager to see rock'n'roll biopics, but they always, always disappoint. Stoned was no exception. That said, Paddy Considine was pretty good in this, as was David Morrissey.

Haven't seen this one, but I always get this feeling about rock biopics. I think they're so hung up on authenticity and verisimilitude that they neglect character and narrative arc and all the other things that make you care about normal films.

Well, there's plenty of character and narrative arc, I'd say. Mainly because it's ostensibly about a fairly short period of time, albeit with flashbacks..
