Perez: They had a really good system there—for all movies. During the screening they have people on walkies in four corners of the theater and they know what to look for. I think some audio did get leaked, unfortunately from the friends-and-crew screening right after Sundance. There was some press people and that’s how it got leaked. It was someone on the crew or some blogger. It totally blows my mind that they would think that’s appropriate or going to help the work. It’s really loathsome.

We never thought anybody would take it seriously. We thought it might be taken the other way, like, “this is just some schlocky ‘B’ movie. This is so ridiculous. Why did they even take the time to do this?” I’m a bit surprised by how many people actually find it unsettling or think it’s too dark to enjoy.

those 2 new songs are great.

the first sounds like a Sung Tongs track (glad they didn't forgot the acoustic guitars!), only more accessible and very melodic.
the 2nd is an intersting piece of abstract.

still love them but this was the moment when their golden era ended, i was so disappointed at the time, didn't really pay attention to Centipede Hz as a result. what a streak though, from Spirit thru MPP.

this is very true. though i'd cut the golden age off at sung tongs. 4 years. plus person pitch. i figure that's a pretty good run.

I have a hard time listening to them these days but "What Would I Want? Sky" still makes me dream of a parallel universe where AC kept on moving forward into the beautiful unknown.

there's a lot of great stuff on ChZ and all the solo records that have come out since 2010, but imo they were batting a thousand for all of the aughts, are there any bands that put out as much golden stuff as they did for longer than a decade?
