Yessssss, when I first met my SpottieOttieDopalicious angel, I remember that damn thing like yesterday. The way she moved reminded me of a brown stallion horse with skates on, you know, smooth like a hot comb through nappy-ass hair. I walked up on her, I was almost paralyzed, her neck smelled sweeter than a plate of yams with extra syrup, eyes beamin' like four karats a piece, just blindin' a nigga.

I have to be boring and say "Rosa Parks" because if I start digging into the tracks on this album, I will never be able to choose

Voted Da Art of Storytellin Pt 1 but already wishing I'd gone for the title track instead. A hard album to pick apart.

My best friend is an Aquarius & I'm a gemini, I'd say the last two lines of "Aquemini" to her all the time, except w/ "N." (her first initial) instead of male pronoun 'him.' This was dorky but it also makes this song v dear to my heart.

Mamacita definitely is something of a rough in the diamond. I find it rather painful to listen to, actually.

It's a tough call between Da Art pt. 1 and SpottieOttie. I think the former is a better song, but the latter has a more special place in my heart, incidentally I've been singing it to myself a lot this week (e.g. like 30 minutes ago, actually).

back when i was obsessed with this album i convinced myself that Mamacita was amazing, but i did take a bit of convincing

I think part of what makes "Spottieottiedopalicious" hit so hard is how in both Dre & Big Boi's verses, they start out as these surrealistic descriptions of chemically-enhanced nightclubbing experiences, but by the end of each verse shit has gotten too real in a very sobering way.

Yeah, I knew "Hey Ya" was recorded for Stankonia. Sounds like they just didn't quite believe in it at the time.

Surprised Ya'll Scared didn't get a single vote, it was an early fave from this album.
Not surprised about Mamacita, I must be one of the only people who doesn't see this track as a low point.
Wanted to say that by revisiting this album, I was surprised how effective Slump is. It's so difficult to say where the strongest part of the album is, could be anywhere (even the last tracks apparently for some).

i always used to hate mamacita but somehow it eventually became like an old friend

shocked by the lack of support for slump, but i guess there are so many great tracks on Aquemini that it can fall through the cracks

what i do know is that it completely smashes everything.

Do they have a lot of extra tracks laying around on b-sides/soundtracks? I never poked around outside of the albums.

"in due time" is also one of their best; it was pulled off aquemini last minute for whatever reason.

and "the whole world," duh

why not throw "black ice" and "intl players anthem" on there too

oh i was just sticking to soundtrack cuts. they never really had any proper b-sides. but i mean yeah: all that stuff is 100% worth your time.
