I saw it, and mentioned it on the Rolling Metal Thread, but got no takers - I guess not many of 'em watch BBC Four or whatever.
Anyway, it wasn't bad. A lot of recycled material though, and the narrow focus cut out a lot of other non-Brit stuff that was in the air at the time (Thin Lizzy were a very glaring omission - of course they're Irish, but still).
Plus it was kind of weird that they cut things off after the NWOBHM, made no mention of that genre's influence on American thrash and everything else that followed, and failed to explore Brits' later seminal contributions to grindcore, death metal, industrial, etc. Heck, they even showed a quick clip of Bill Steer and Shane Embury from the Arena metal special - but to illustrate the typical surly teenage metalhead! Oy!
