I wonder if Varg lurks on ilm..

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 12 March 2010 15:43 (fifteen years ago)

Has to be Dead Can Dance, although on a trip to Berlin in the 90s I did pick up a copy of that Das Ich album. I liked it a lot at the time, although I think it's rubbish now.

"I wonder if Varg lurks on ilm"

Under the assumed name of Ned Raggett apparently, considering his (their?) love for the Cure, Depeche Mode and New Order!

Marco Damiani, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:12 (fifteen years ago)

which would also explain the 160,000 posts - not a lot to do when yer stuck in posh norwegian jail

First and Last and Safeways ™ (jjjusten), Friday, 12 March 2010 16:19 (fifteen years ago)

Who would've thought that Varg's biggest influence while in jail would have been Ned and Dan?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 12 March 2010 16:28 (fifteen years ago)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:29 (fifteen years ago)

Oh my god!
So now the question is: who was the guy who came to our house claiming to be Ned?

Marco Damiani, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:30 (fifteen years ago)

Like I don't have clones.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:30 (fifteen years ago)

*shivers*

Marco Damiani, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:31 (fifteen years ago)

Battlestar Raggettica etc.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:32 (fifteen years ago)

I can't believe I met Varg 5 years ago in Glasgow while he was on the run.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 12 March 2010 16:33 (fifteen years ago)

can't believe you left "old german and soviet marches" off the poll. guess you didn't want a total blowout

original bgm, Friday, 12 March 2010 16:47 (fifteen years ago)

not exactly a "band" or "artist" though

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 12 March 2010 17:31 (fifteen years ago)

Are you gutted he didn't mention Wagner?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 12 March 2010 17:31 (fifteen years ago)

StanM, Friday, 12 March 2010 17:38 (fifteen years ago)

words I did not think I would read on this thread: "Has to be Dead Can Dance"

we call him gabb Neb coz he's gabb & his names Nebille (Curt1s Stephens), Friday, 12 March 2010 19:08 (fifteen years ago)

that's my fave dead can dance album.

scott seward, Friday, 12 March 2010 19:15 (fifteen years ago)

What is your fave Burzum album, skot?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 12 March 2010 22:46 (fifteen years ago)

Depeche Mode.

Almost voted for Lillebjørn Nilsen, as I reckon I'd be the only one going for him :)

Tied Up In Geir (Geir Hongro), Saturday, 13 March 2010 19:30 (fifteen years ago)

Geir which black metal guy was it that you knew from school?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 13 March 2010 20:31 (fifteen years ago)

Dunno if he was a black metal guy, but Euronymous' younger brother was in my high school class.

Tied Up In Geir (Geir Hongro), Saturday, 13 March 2010 20:39 (fifteen years ago)

He didn't wear a corpsepaint school uniform then?

Ok for a split second, I thought "Has to be Dead Can Dance" was the name of a Dead Can Dance album.

Kevin John Bozelka, Saturday, 13 March 2010 22:01 (fifteen years ago)

not getting why Dead Can Dance are such a surprising choice on this thread

anagram, Saturday, 13 March 2010 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

Having a hard time picturing Varg getting down to 'People Are People'.

We should have called Suzie and Bobby (NickB), Saturday, 13 March 2010 22:23 (fifteen years ago)

"What is your fave Burzum album, skot?"

i don't know if i have one! i like his stuff. i have four or five of his records on vinyl. but i don't listen to them that much. if i listen to stuff from that era it tends to be mayhem or emperor. i like filosofem a lot. i probably listen more to people who rip him off then i do burzum. just cuz i like listening to new stuff.

scott seward, Saturday, 13 March 2010 22:26 (fifteen years ago)

You heard the new one?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 00:51 (fifteen years ago)

no.

scott seward, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 01:02 (fifteen years ago)

I love the thread title change

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 02:36 (fifteen years ago)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:13 (fifteen years ago)

I would probably vote for old German & Soviet marches if it were an option but I voted for the cure

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:18 (fifteen years ago)

I'd be down for a full album of that. Cover art can be the Soviet-era Kremlin done Faith-style.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:19 (fifteen years ago)

depending how martial-sounding it is, you might do just as well buying a Das Ich album

akon/family (Curt1s Stephens), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

haha I was gonna say

I do not sense that these are appropriate soldiers for the Glorious Motherland.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:24 (fifteen years ago)

However, if Varg chose to look that way...

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:24 (fifteen years ago)

Have you been to Germany?

smoking cigarette shades? it doesn't even make any sense. (HI DERE), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:25 (fifteen years ago)

That's the Glorious Fatherland, surely. (And I fully expect everyone there to look like that.)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:41 (fifteen years ago)

I expect the Finnish to look like the guy on the right

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 16:35 (fifteen years ago)
