PSych! I just made an hour long mix of exactly this kind of thing. I'll try and upload it to this thread at some point.

Here's the mix. I typed out the whole track listing and then ILX (thanks ILX!) lost it. I'll come back and rewrite it when I got a minute. Sorry. Anyway, this mix is largely made up of tracks like this with a few other things thrown in.

St. Germain counts? If you pump up the bass it sounds like house instead of acid jazz.
Probably the best artist doing this is Moodymann. The raw cuts from Motorcity Drum Ensemble are also amazing.
I'm in the mood to listen to some jazzy house, any recommendations?

If you like Moodymann u should check out the self-titled Three Chairs album from way back (group of Moodymann/Theo/Rick Wilhite/mike Huckaby i think?)

There was a track from several years back by Robag Wruhme (or was it Wighnomy Bros?) that had crazy Max Roach style drum samples all over it, but I don't recall the name. And he's sampled plenty of jazzy stuff, but this one sticks out in my mind. If I can dig around his discog and find it I'll post.

Terrence Dixon is awesome! It might be too 'heady' for casual listeners though.... I was actually looking for something that can be dropped casually in a party rather than headphone home listening (although if anyone played these Terrence Dixon in a party I wouldn't complain at all)

Is there a thread of this sort but for soul/blues samples instead of jazz/swing?
― Moka, Wednesday, 18 December 2013 06:10 (eleven years ago)
Anyhoo here's another deep house/jazzy track (nina simone's mosquito sample if i'm hearing correctly)

Pinnacles by Four Tet isn't a brass sample but it is a sweet double bass riff loop from a jazz track.
― I can still taste the Taboo in my mouth when I hear those songs (Scik Mouthy), Thursday, 19 December 2013 06:53 (eleven years ago)
Surprised and gratified that this thread isn't about the horrible, horrible "Swing House"/"Electro Swing" genre that Tracer Hand touched on above, where every song sounds exactly like We No Speak Americano.
― Dan I., Thursday, 19 December 2013 08:15 (eleven years ago)
I hate that shit! On theory it sounds like it could work but it's almost always this cheesy sped up loops that become grating by the second time you listen to them. There's a band called caravan something that is popular amongst the electroswing crowd but I don't get it.
― Moka, Thursday, 19 December 2013 09:08 (eleven years ago)
Caravan palace. That's it. We should make a defend the indefensible thread for electroswing.
