i searched, but could only find a few mentions of this band on ilx. what's up with that? this band is utterly fantastic; i know that their album came out in '06, and then all they did was a split with jesu in '08 before breaking up, but they still deserve a thread.
speaking of the jesu split, has anyone heard it? i youtubed BOM and only got one song that isn't on the album, called 'the bishop'. it's good, though i found the drums pounding in the beginning to be a bit obnoxious.
so yeah, their album, a day of nights, is really, really good, spooky, scary metal. it's interesting how disturbing they are, and how much of that comes from her vocals. listening to this album is a bit of an ordeal: as with (most) loud music, the album is a journey, and this one is an incredibly dark, at times scary one. certainly it isn't music that i'd put on to rock out to, but when i'm in the right mood (as i maybe am too often), it hits the spot like nothing else.
whatserface is an amazing vocalist; her screams have so much emotion, and she sounds super creepy when she's singing like a little girl. the other band she's in, made out of babies, is also fantastic, but i think i prefer battle of mice.

julie christmas is she of whom you speak... yeah, absolutely fantastic vocalist, though I find MOOB much more satisfying than BoM, which can sometimes veer into isis-esque post-metal territory that I find a little ponderous these days.* Babies are much more succinct and aggressive, and thus more pleasing. their last album was superb, leagues beyond their previous work.
* having said that, 'sleep and dream' is an all-time classic.
