sundar subramanian, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Capital Gold sport...Arsenal are winning (boo!)...and Spurs are 0-0 with Aston Villa. Crystal Palace look doomed. I'd like to be listening to something new and interesting, my music collection is uninspiring today...

james e l, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Scratch Pet Land. Wish I was listening to Natacha Atlas.

John Smith, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

BBC Five Live - news of another Crystal Palace defeat at home, with 2 away matches to go both are Crystal Palace doomed? unfortunately games are running out Robin.

updated Division 1 table

Calculations if Portsmouth win against Crystal Palace - Plalace will be relegated never mind the last game.

in the ILM first division update

footie results - Palace lost at home, Grimsby lost again with now a real crap goal difference, Huddersfield draw away, QPR second half crushed by Stockport(who are now save as Palace can't catch em)

What do I wish I was listening to - Ulver - Perdition City album on order through an internet CD store or an advance copy of Tool - Lateralus.

DJ Martian, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Strangely enough, Martian, I've just turned off Five Live. And, yes, I think we're going down now.

I am listening to Malcolm Clarke's "La Grande Piece de la Foire de la Rue Delaware". I wish I was listening to Destiny's Child's "Bootilicious". In a moment, I will.

Robin Carmody, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Derek & Clive AD NAUSEUM - Peter Cook & Dudley Moore in particularly drunken and potty-mouthed form.

alex in nyc, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

just for the record, i wasn't listening to "every breath" by choice. co-worker's tape.

sundar subramanian, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Take Ecstasy with Me". But I think this has been enough so now I wish that I will be listening to Dr. Dre. (Luckily not much is standing in way of my actualizing my wish.)

Josh, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The sound of silence. No, actually, it's one of my housemates playing acoustic guitar -- happily he's pretty good, he messes around with folk and flamenco along with more familiar rock stuff, and it's always pretty pleasant.

I was listening to Porcupine Tree so now I'll listen to Bassland. Perhaps.

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 28 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Listening to Boogie Down Bronx - Man Parrish // thinking about what the hell I can follow it with

Geordie Racer, Sunday, 29 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A vicious remix of Tappa Zukie's "Dub MPLA".

Michael Daddino, Sunday, 29 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Forgot to say what I wish I was listening to...hmmm...nah. I have no desire to listen to anything else but the Tappa Zukie right now.

Michael Daddino, Sunday, 29 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Right now, I'm listening to Rick Dees' countdown (currently playing: Lenny Kravitz's "Again"), wondering if all the ILM people who keep saying this is a great time for pop music are smoking bad crack. I wish I was listening to the records I bought yesterday and haven't yet listened to - The Clientele's Suburban Light, Richard Pryor's Bicentennial Nigger, The Fall's Early Years 77-79 and Heavy D's Heavy Hits.

Patrick, Sunday, 29 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ahh, an easy question! (All my brain can handle during finals week, to be sure.) Right now, I'm listening to Mogwai's Ten Rapid, but I wish I was listening to "Into the Groove" by Madonna. Weird, what exam stress will do to a person.

Clarke B., Sunday, 29 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes, Clarke, it makes you listen to Mogwai. Boooo-oooh-ring. ;-) I am listening to The Avalanches, Lovin' Spoonful and Fifth Dimension. I wish I was listening to some Destiny's Child bootlegs.

Stevie Nixed, Sunday, 29 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Wish I was listening to: Philip P. Hawkes begging for forgiveness for being such a cocksucking corporate cunt and promising to give FT's domain name back. Le sigh...

Nicole, Monday, 30 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Listening to The Bell Notes 'Be Mine' , which made me wish I was listening to Lewis Reed's 'Your Love' .

So now I am.

Guy, Monday, 30 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

three months pass...
"Can't Knock The Hustle". And you can't, you know. I don't wish I was listening to anything besides this.

Ally, Friday, 24 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am currently listening to Another Car, Another Carcrash by Dex Dexter.

As ever, the CD I wish I was listening to is one I recently lent to a friend. You don't know what you got till it's gone and all that. Anyway, the CD in question is the Electrelane album.

jamesmichaelward, Friday, 24 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 24 October 2003 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Listening to Jandek; four albums (6&6, Blue Corpse, Modern Dances, Interstellar Discussion) on random. My roomie wanted to listen to it with his jazz student friend. It's good, but I wish I were listening to Parts&Labor so I could discuss them more thoroughly/authoritatively in that other thread.

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 24 October 2003 04:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Currently: Blair 1523. Wish: nothing, because I like the Blair 1523.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 October 2003 04:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Currently: Jurgen Paape, which I am enjoying, though jonesing for some Donna Summer or just some grand old Gorky's Zygotic Mynci.

adaml (adaml), Friday, 24 October 2003 04:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Art Ensemble of Chicago, Eda Wobu.

Fugazi "Great Cop"

earlnash, Friday, 24 October 2003 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Right now I'm listening to Thanatopsis' new album (forgot the name). It kinda just makes me wish I was listening to Zillatron.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 24 October 2003 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Listening to: two jazz records I got in the mail, Reid Anderson's "The Vastness of Space" and Gerald Cleaver's "Adjust". They are both deliciously awesome, in similar ways.

I wish I was listening to the new Jay-Z or the Kill Bill soundtrack, which I still have to buy.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 24 October 2003 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Orchestra Baobab - Specialist in All Styles. It's fucking great.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 24 October 2003 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Now I'm listening to Jay-Z "What More Could I Say?" and it's making me want to listen to something else, I don't give a fuck what.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 24 October 2003 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Amon Düül II's "Wolf City"

Well, uhhh, as for wishing to listen to, maybe the remastered version? This is some old French release (bootleg? Probably not, as under the tray there's stamped "PROMOCAO")
For some reason I've had bad luck in ADII purchases, as two of my three CD are crappy old issues, instead of mighty pandamasters.

Øystein H-O (Øystein H-O), Friday, 24 October 2003 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Richie Devine's new album 'Assct : Dssct'. I loved his remixes & compilation tracks, but the first two albums left me slightly cold. This new one finally nails it.

I wish I were listening to disc six of the Art Bears Box Set but I don't think it's even been pressed yet.

(Jon L), Friday, 24 October 2003 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Art Bears box set? Is such a thing really in the making?
Oh happy days! Then I can pretend that's why I haven't bought any Art Bears albums yet; because I was holding out for the box! Woohoo!

Øystein H-O (Øystein H-O), Friday, 24 October 2003 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I just bought Phallus Dei (2000 reissue on Gammarock) this afternoon, and wasn't all that impressed. Not heavy enough for me. Should I move on to Yeti, or not bother?

Phil Freeman (Phil Freeman), Friday, 24 October 2003 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I really wanna hear "Funeral" by the Mekons.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 24 October 2003 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm listening to the last Elbow album. I wanna be listening to someone moan with pleasure and tell me they love me and that I'm beautiful. Oh well.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 24 October 2003 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Yeti is better than Phallus Dei, but they're not really so different as to make me think you should bother.
That being said, it took me a while to get into the band, as a lot of their jamming just annoyed me rather than intrigued me for a good while. Somehow that changed with time.

Now playing: Gentle Giant - Three Friends (was reading Rabelais a little while ago, and it made me want to listen to "Octopus", but somehow on the way it changed into this album)
Want to listen to: well, boring as I am, I just want to listen to this. The bass playing on this album is surprisingly groovy. But that might be coming from an undecidedly ungroovy pastyfat Norwegian kid who couldn't dance to save the better things for latté with Clapton.
It's got a giant on the cover art though (since I have the lame-o American one) so there's still some Pantagrumpy connection.

Also thinking: These pants are really frigging dirty. Yech! Good thing it's late and I can take them off! Or at least attempt to, there might be some crazy manga-shit going down in my knees'n'thighs'n'crotch'n'asspockets right about now.

Øystein H-O (Øystein H-O), Friday, 24 October 2003 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Now listening to Vonsuck, Estonian downtempo/ambient/semi-shoegaze. Me like. Wish I was listening to...well, this is nice, so yay.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 25 October 2003 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Guns n Roses! Dunno what I want to be listenign to. Same as last night, i guess.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Saturday, 25 October 2003 18:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Right now, The Best of Mixmag Live, which would OWN the dance thread. As for wishing, Cornelius' Fantasma and Basement Jaxx's Kish Kash.

Barima (Barima), Sunday, 26 October 2003 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

David Murray Live at the Village Vangaurd wishing i too had the new Kish Kash , and La Dusseldorf for this lazy rainy sunday morning...on vinyl.

thomas de'aguirre (biteylove), Sunday, 26 October 2003 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)

robert wyatt - mid-eighties. i don't understand the second part of the question. i usually don't listen to stuff i don't want to listen to. except when it is forced on me.

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Sunday, 26 October 2003 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I am currently listening to the hums of my computer & the dehumidifier, mixed with the sound of the TV upstairs. I wish I was listening to the Tower Recordings improvising here in my basement. As I'm about to take the kids out for ice cream, I need to consider what I am about to listen to on the car stereo. I'nm leaning towards Double Leopards or Bruce Springsteen.

John Bullabaugh (John Bullabaugh), Sunday, 26 October 2003 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Currently listening to the Clouddead album, which is really great. Love every track on it.

Wish I was listening to . . . the Clouddead is great, but wish I had the Kill Bill soundtrack, so I suppose I wish I was listening to that.

Jonathan (Jonathan), Sunday, 26 October 2003 23:40 (twenty-one years ago)
