YES! Even though Side 2 >>>> Side 1 for me. Love love love every track, though. "Throw That Beat In the Garbage Can" proves they did downtown NYC at least as well as any downtown NYCer. There was even a not so good but very pretty German band called Throw That Beat In the Garbage Can (they did, unfortunately).

i was a bit shocked by the title track’s horn blare intro on the original mix that kicks off the new reissue, the fadein on the 1990 remix that’s has long been the default feels much more effective.

not sure the attempt to expand the album by including adios, queen and big bird works for me; the unfinished feel of these songs apart from the title track works in the context of “less important mini lp”. if you’re gonna reissue the original mix, why alter the track order? append the bonus tracks after.

the unremixed album is very much byrne vs b-52s and sounds so hot pink highlighter marker trapper keeper just like speaking in tongues. it’s not nearly funny enough, harmonytastic enough, or guitary enough, but it holds my interest fine as a detour where the band searches for its next sound which sounds much better on the next album.

won’t listen to the live album again, although it’s interesting that they performed the whole of the mesopotamia record.
